came here last week to visit her daughter, Mrs. A.J.Grant, died this
morning at ther daughter's residence. The remains will be shipped to New
Hampshire this evening. Deceased was 84 years of age on 11 Oct 1901 at
Faribault, Rice, Minnesota, United States of America. She was buried at

Frank Garfield Beers


Frank Garfield Beers was the father of Martha Post, my grandmother.

farmer and the picture is his home in Hollis, New Hampshire. He managed Ross Farm in West Medway, Mass, a farm in Middlefield,
CT, Seven Gates Farm in Tisbury (Martha's Vineyard), Mass, and farms in
Proctersville, VT, Gardner and Littleton, Mass, before purchasing a dairy
farm of his own in Hollis, NH which he called Maple Way Farm. He was He
was a member of the Congregational Church. He was born on 3 Oct 1886 at
Redding, Fairfield, Connecticut, United States of America, son of James Benjamin
Beers and Anna Louise Betts. He appeared on
the census of 1900 in the household of James Benjamin Beers and Anna
Louise Beers at Redding, Fairfield, Connecticut, United States of
America. His daughter by Jennie Post, Martha Post, was born on 29 Jul
1904 at New Fairfield, Fairfield, Connecticut, United States of America. He was probably
working at the nearby Beers farm in this time period, but before the birth moved with his family
to Medway, Massachusetts. Apparently, there was some talk of marriage (per Martha's birth record),
but he married Ida Holbrook Adams, daughter of Charles M Adams
and Mamie Holbrook, on 1 Jan 1907 at West Medway, Norfolk,

Hollis, April 26 - Frank G. Beers, 62, well-known dairy farmer and a Hollis
resident for many years, died at his home on North Pepperell rd early this
morning. He was born in Reading, Conn. Oct 3, 1886, son of the late James
B. Beers and Anna (Bates) Beers.
He came to this town from Littleton, Mass.
Mr. Beers was a member of the Hollis Congregational church and was active
in the Hollis grange.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs Ida (Adams) Beers of Hollis, two sons,
Charles Beers of Townsend, Mass and Lee P. Beers of this town, two
daughters, Mrs. Ida Winslow of Littleton and Mrs Ruth Pineo of Hollis, five
grandchildren, two brothers, Andrew Beers of Wareham, Mass and James Beers
of West Medway, Mass; one sister, Mrs Anna Gibbs of Sagamore, Mass; several
nieces, nephews, and cousins on 26 Apr 1949 at Hollis, Hillsborough, New
Hampshire, United States of America. He Funeral Notice

Philip Wildman


He was born in 1756. Philip Wildman chose Comfort Wildman as his guardian
on 24 Jan 1775,although date may be 1765 as Joseph (his father) died 1764.
He lived at Brookfield, Fairfield, Connecticut, United States of America. He sold
to Friend Terrell, 50 acres in 2 pieces of land on 10 Apr 1778. Deeds
show that he sold for the consideration of 16 shillings and 5 pence, land
for a public highway in Dec 1787. He married Luana Platt, daughter
of Jesse Platt and Sarah. He witnessed the will of
Jesse Platt on 5 Jul 1797 at New Fairfield, Fairfield, Connecticut,
United States of America. He left a will in 1812. He married Louisa
Canfield as his second wife.
Philip owned a large tract of land
and one day while chopping down trees in his woodland a tree fell upon him
and it was necessary to amputate his leg. After this he wore a wooden leg.
He was considered an excellet agriculturist at Brookfield, Fairfield,
Connecticut, United States of America. He died on 9 Nov 1816 at aged sixty years, Brookfield,
Fairfield, Connecticut, United States of America. He was buried at Brookfield Central
Cemetery, Brookfield, Fairfield, Connecticut, United States of America.
Philip Wildman was the father of Joseph Wildman. Joseph's son Abraham was the father of Clarinda Wildman Durgy and Joseph's daughter Hannah married Caleb Bouton Benedict, both being ancestors of my grandfather, John Alpheus Fairchild.

Charles Herbert Howe was born on 20 Sep

New Hampshire, United States of America. He was one of the trustees of
the Public Library, and President for three years of the Berkshire County
Teachers Association between 1889 and 1897 at Adams, Berkshire,

He was principal of Wakefield High School until his death between
1898 and 1918 at Wakefield, Middlesex, Massachusetts, United States of

the Middlesex County Teachers Association, a member of the Massachusetts
